Chaberton Energy and Pivot Energy, solar developers, has announced powering up Project Catherine, a 19-acre solar site in Cooksville, Maryland. Situated on St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church’s property in Howard County, it supplies energy to the church, Loyola University, and the community. By utilizing unused areas, designers preserved prime athletic fields for the church. Pivot recently acquired the project, expanding its mid-Atlantic portfolio, originally developed by Chaberton. Project Catherine will generate 4.3 MWdc, powering 750 homes and benefiting from Maryland’s Community Solar program. Loyola will access 750 kWdc through a renewable energy agreement. Pivot has donated to Power52 Foundation, aiding Baltimore’s workforce in clean energy careers. Chaberton has supported Bright Minds Foundation and Community Ecology Institute.
