The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy of Cape Verde has announced a solar tender to develop two ground-mounted photovoltaic plants with a combined capacity of 10 MW. The projects, divided into two 5 MW installations, will be located on the islands of Sal and São Vicente. Interested independent power producers must pre-qualify by January 31. These projects will be developed on a build, own, and operate basis. Cape Verde, which had an installed solar capacity of 8 MW as of 2018, is advancing its renewable energy goals to produce 30% of its electricity from renewables by 2025 and reach 50% by 2030.
