X-ELIO, a Spanish developer of solar projects, has completed the sale of its 50 MW Castelvetrano solar project in Sicily to PLT Energia, a renewable energy producer in Italy. The Castelvetrano power plant is anticipated to produce 92 GWh of electricity per year. X-ELIO had already commissioned 146 MW of solar power in Italy, and another 116 MW was under construction in various sites. X-ELIO has also maintained a development pipeline of 1.1 GW in solar projects and 1.8 GW in energy storage. Prior to this transaction, X-ELIO had commissioned the 14 MW Funaki solar project in Japan, marking further international expansion in Asia. PLT Energia, based in Cesena, has announced that they will reach 365 MW of installed capacity by 2025 with 110 MW in advanced construction. PLT Energia also confirmed a pipeline of 3.4 GW under development, indicating ongoing growth in the Italy's solar space.
