Spain-headquartered Velto Renewables, an international renewable energy producer, and Q ENERGY inaugurated the 9.2 MW Milhat solar plant in Lafitte-Vigordane, Haute-Garonne, on May 14, 2025. The plant was built on a 9-hectare former quarry, converted into pastureland and integrated with a grazing sheep farm. Over 15,800 solar panels were installed to coexist with agricultural activity through a grazing agreement and scheduled pasture upkeep. The project began in 2018 and was designed to power 5,800 homes and cut 3,146 tons of COâ‚‚ each year. It was first approved in 2022 with low tariffs but faced delays due to global issues. A new tariff approved in 2024 made it possible to complete the project. This inauguration follows an earlier partnership wereQ ENERGY teamed up with Velto Renewables for a 130 MW renewable energy project in France.
