US-based T1 Energy and Corning have signed a supply agreement to strengthen the US solar supply chain. Corning has been producing hyper-pure polysilicon and solar wafers at its Michigan campus. These wafers are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2026. T1 Energy’s G2_Austin solar cell facility, currently under development, will receive the wafers. The cells produced there are planned for module assembly at T1’s operational G1_Dallas site. This agreement has created a fully domestic link across polysilicon, wafers, cells and modules. It has provided greater certainty for customers and regulatory compliance in solar procurement. The model has also supported long-term planning and energy resilience in the US. The partnership, spanning Michigan and Texas, was expected to create nearly 6,000 jobs nationwide.Earlier, T1 Energy gained an edge with US polysilicon sourcing amid ongoing tariff investigations.
