T1 EnergyInc., an energy solutions provider, has supported the US Commerce Department’s Section 232 probe on foreign polysilicon. The investigation is aimed at assessing the impact on national security and manufacturing. T1 holds a supply contract for hyper-pure US-made polysilicon, which may gain advantage. The company is also backing the Solar 4 AD/CVD case targeting imports from India, Laos and Indonesia. These trade actions align with T1’s plan to localize its solar supply chain. The company operates a 5 GW solar module plant in Dallas, Texas. It is also developing a solar cell facility, G2_Austin, to expand vertical integration. T1 has continued advocating for stronger US trade policies and manufacturing safeguards. The firm has positioned itself to benefit from potential tariffs that support domestic solar production. T1’s efforts reflect its broader goal to strengthen US advanced manufacturing through trade enforcement. Prior to this, T1 Energy initiated early-stage construction on a 5GW solar cell plant in Texas as part of its integration strategy.
