SunPower, a US-based residential solar services provider headquartered in Richmond, California, announced on September 26, 2025, that it has completed the acquisition of Sunder Energy, a solar sales company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to Ohm Analytics, the acquisition has positioned SunPower as the fifth largest residential solar company in the United States by installed megawatts. SunPower said that the transaction integrated Sunder’s 893-person dealer salesforce and 20 permanent employees, doubling its total sales representatives to 1,734. The company noted that Sunder is expected to contribute approximately 5,500 new solar contracts annually, with EPC revenues projected to increase through 2026. Operations are also expected to expand from 22 states to 45 states, strengthening SunPower’s market reach. A trial phase processed 64 Sunder deals through SunPower’s systems to validate sales methods, while integration is being guided by a structured plan with 310 deliverables overseen by joint leadership teams.
