Sinovoltaics announced the completion of the first EPEAT Low-Carbon Solar audits for Qcells. The audits examined two types of solar modules produced at Qcells’ Dalton, Georgia facility, both of which were confirmed to meet all EPEAT certification requirements. Sinovoltaics said it reviewed documentation and performed two on-site audits to verify component traceability back to raw materials. The firm noted that supply chain verification was the primary challenge, which was addressed through collaboration with Qcells. According to Qcells, more than two years of data collection supported the certification process. EPEAT is a globally recognized ecolabel for sustainable electronics, and certified products are listed in the Global Electronics Council’s registry for low-carbon and responsibly manufactured technologies. Sinovoltaics also mapped the solar supply chain in the Middle East and Africa.
