Sinovoltaics, a Hong Kong-based compliance and quality assurance company, has released its first Solar Supply Chain Map for the Middle East and Africa on August 27, 2025. The report showed that both regions are accelerating efforts toward vertical integration in solar PV manufacturing. Current installed capacities included 3.4 GW of modules, 2.5 GW of solar cells, and 8.05 GW of ingot production. Ambitious 2030 targets were announced, projecting 62.12 GW of modules, 52.55 GW of cells, 45 GW of polysilicon, and 290,000 tons of metallurgical-grade silicon. Much of this expansion was supported by Chinese companies, while the Middle East and Africa positioned themselves as alternatives to Southeast Asia. The map listed 27 factory sites and noted South African modules faced 30% tariffs in the United States.
