Recurrent Energy, a US-based solar and storage developer and a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, has sold the 100 MW Cafayate project. The project, located in Salta, Argentina, was commissioned in 2019 and has been generating around 229,820 MWh of renewable electricity annually for the national grid. Central Puerto has acquired the operational plant, expanding its presence in Argentina’s growing utility-scale solar market with a fully integrated renewable asset. Recurrent Energy has already developed and connected more than 12 GW of solar and 6 GWh of storage across multiple global markets. Recurrent Energy has also maintained a development pipeline totaling about 25 GW of solar capacity and 69 GWh of storage worldwide.Earlier this year, Recurrent Energy secured $260 million from US Bancorp for the 94 MW Blue Moon Solar project in Kentucky under a PPA with Constellation.
