Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, has secured $260 million in financing from US Bancorp Impact Finance for its 94 MW Blue Moon Solar project in Harrison County, Kentucky. The funding includes both tax equity and construction capital. Constellation has signed a power purchase agreement to buy electricity and renewable energy certificates from the facility. Construction is underway, with commercial operation expected in 2026. Recurrent Energy will own and operate the plant upon completion. This is the company’s first project in Kentucky. It is expected to generate substantial local tax revenue and create hundreds of construction jobs. Through its Community CaRE Program, Recurrent Energy has made donations to local organizations, including the Harrison Memorial Hospital Foundation and community events. The project demonstrates collaboration among private finance, utility partners, and local government. Earlier, Recurrent Energy secured €61.5 million for a solar and storage project in Italy.
