France-headquartered Neoen has secured 46.8 MW in the latest French government solar tender. The award included three projects, with Romilly 2 floating solar farm at 34.5 MW as the largest. Romilly 2 will be built on a former quarry lake in Aube. It followed Romilly Saint-Eloi, a 42.7 MW project commissioned in 2024 on a former airfield. It was also Neoen’s second floating solar project after Matignicourt, a 35 MW plant awarded in 2024. All three projects are scheduled to be commissioned between 2028 and 2029. Neoen has now reached 689 MW under the PPE 2 ground-mounted PV programme since 2022. The projects were developed with cooperation from local authorities, departments, farmers, and stakeholders across Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Grand Est, and Occitanie regions. This award followed Neoen’s recent collaboration with Alight, where the companies commissioned the 100 MW Hultsfred solar project in Sweden.
