Alight, a Sweden-based solar developer, and Neoen, a France-based renewable energy producer, have commissioned the 100 MW Hultsfred Solar Farm. The facility was built at Hultsfred Airport with 174,000 PV panels across 130 hectares, generating about 100 GWh annually for 18,000 households. A long-term power purchase agreement signed in 2022 ensures H&M Group receives 95% of the annual electricity generation with guarantees of origin. Equans Energy and Storage, a France-based engineering services provider, with Sweden-based Solkompaniet, was responsible for EPC activities. Danske Bank, headquartered in Denmark, has financed the project, while Germany-based E.ON connected the facility to its regional electricity distribution grid. Neoen has stated that Hultsfred is its fourth Swedish asset, raising its national portfolio of solar, wind, and storage projects to 304 MW. Earlier this year, Alight initiated a 15 MW solar park in Uppsala under a PPA with AkzoNobel, supplying 16 GWh annually to its Kristinehamn and Gothenburg sites.
