Germany-headquartered MVV and its project development subsidiary JUWI, has connected a 13.5 MW solar park to the grid in Freudenberg, Baden-Württemberg, in June 2025. The park used 23,000 bifacial modules to generate over 14.8 million kWh annually, enough to supply around 4,750 households. Electricity was transported via a 2.5 km underground cable to the Freudenberg substation and fed into NetzeBW's 110 kV grid. Construction began in August 2024, avoiding heavy machinery during wet months to prevent soil compaction. Regional seeds were sown on-site to support biodiversity. JUWI will handle technical operations. This marked the seventh joint solar project by MVV and JUWI in southern Germany since 2022. The park is located near an existing 16.8 MW wind farm operated by MVV and JUWI. JUWI’s Freudenberg project aligns with its 340 MW solar plans for Teraco, Sasol, Air Liquide, and Glencore.
