Spain-based Iberdrola Italia, a global a renewable energy sector, has opened its third solar plant in Tarquinia, Italy, with a 33 MW capacity. The plant has 50,000 panels and can produce about 50 GWh of electricity per year, enough to power 18,000 homes. It is expected to cut over 15,000 tons of CO₂ emissions every year. The project also included planting 1,350 olive trees to help support local income. During the inauguration, local students and teachers planted the final 20 trees as part of the Pianeta Iberdrola program. The event was attended by municipal officials and the Spanish Ambassador to Italy. Recently, Iberdrola also installs Golden Row at 377 MW PV farm in Queensland.
