ibvogt, a Berlin-based solar developer, has signed a long-term virtual power purchase agreement with a US-based investment-grade technology company for a 70 MW PV project in northwestern Romania. The facility is designed with bifacial modules, single-axis trackers, and storage readiness, and it is expected to generate about 110 GWh annually. ibvogt has taken responsibility for engineering, procurement, construction, and long-term operations and maintenance. The agreement marked one of Romania’s few bankable corporate renewable contracts, as the corporate PPA market remains nascent but is developing quickly. The project was set to support grid decarbonization and supply diversification while highlighting the growing role of utility-scale solar in Central and Eastern Europe.Earlier, ibvogt also began developing a 99 MW PV project in South Cotabato, complementing its latest vPPA-backed initiative in Romania.
