Grenergy, a renewable power producer, has begun building the Monte Águila solar and battery plant in Chile’s Biobío region. The project will generate 340 MW of solar power and store 960 MWh of energy. It represents a major addition to Grenergy’s Central Oasis platform, aimed at strengthening Chile’s clean energy and storage capacity. Grenergy said the project builds on the success of its Oasis de Atacama development in northern Chile and extends the company’s hybrid solar-storage portfolio to the country’s central region. Earlier to this, CVC DIF acquired a 272 MW hybrid project from Grenergy in Chile, further strengthening the company’s regional clean energy portfolio.
