Colombia-based Ecopetrol S.A. closed its transaction with Statkraft on November 13, 2025 for the acquisition of one development company and six special-purpose entities holding about 0.6 GW of solar projects for USD 157.5 million. The assets were previously owned by Statkraft subsidiaries Enerfín Sociedad de Energía S.L.U and Enerfin Enervento Exterior S.L. The payment was made through incremental debt financing under Ecopetrol’s investment plan. The agreement signed in May 2025 included up to ten companies, with three wind-project entities totaling about 0.7 GW still pending completion. Ecopetrol now owned 100 percent of the acquired solar entities and began integrating them into its group structure. The transaction aligned with Ecopetrol’s 2040 strategy and supported its low-emission generation for self-consumption.
