Canada-based Cordelio Power, a renewable energy company,has announced that the 150 MW AC Winfield solar project in Lincoln County, Missouri, has achieved commercial operations. The project is delivering all electricity to Microsoft under a 15-year contract. Cordelioacquired the site in 2020 from Dakota Renewable Energy, which began development in 2017. Qcells provided EPC services and supplied solar modules manufactured in Georgia. Financing included a $207 million construction loan and a $106 million term loan from MUFG, National Bank of Canada, SMBC, and Rabobank. Fifth Third Bank supported the project through tax equity investment, while a third party purchased part of the investment tax credits. Latham & Watkins advised on legal matters, and Marathon Capital managed the sale of tax credits. The Winfield project is Cordelio’s first in Missouri.Earlier this year, Cordelio Power partnered with BrightNight to develop a 300 MW solar project in Arizona, expanding its U.S. renewable portfolio.
