KITCHENER-headquartered Canadian Solar, a manufacturer of solar PV modules, has announced the launch of its N-type TOPBiHiKu CS6.2 module series for utility and C&I systems. The modules deliver up to 660 W. They reach an efficiency of up to 24.4%. Global deliveries start in August 2025. The modules use fine line printing to reduce finger width by over 30%. This improves light utilization by 1% (absolute). An advanced firing process improves contact resistance and lowers carrier recombination. Rear polysilicon optimization reduces current loss and boosts bifaciality up to 90%. Next-gen passivation cuts emitter recombination losses by up to 20%. It raises cell efficiency by 0.1% (absolute). Ultra-precise SMBB design lowers electrical resistance and power losses. The modules have a temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C. They lower balance of system costs by up to 2%. They reduce LCOE by up to 5% compared to standard TOPCon modules. The series will be shown at Intersolar Europe from May 7 to 9 in Munich. Flow Power and Canadian Solar also launched Australia's first anti-hail solar project recently.
