BrightNight, a US-based renewable energy developer, along with Canada-based Cordelio Power have achieved financial close for the 300 MW AC Pioneer Clean Energy Center, a hybrid PV and storage plant in Arizona. The portfolio includes a 300 MW / 1,200 MWh BESS to supply firm and dispatchable renewable power. According to BrightNight, construction has already begun, and commercial operations are expected to start by April 2027. Financing was secured through international lenders including Crédit Agricole, MUFG, Royal Bank of Canada, National Bank of Canada, CoBank, and ING. According to BrightNight, the design of the installation was optimized using its AI-based PowerAlpha platform to enhance system flexibility and efficiency. Cordelio Power, owned by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, has said that the facility represents an important step in expanding its hybrid renewable portfolio across North America. Prior to this, BrightNight and Cordelio Power, in partnership with SPPA, had completed the 300 MW Box Canyon Solar project in Arizona.
