Avalon ST, a Switzerland-based provider of LED-based solar simulation and metrology systems, has acquired PASAN SA, a Swiss manufacturer of xenon-based PV testing tools. The acquisition was finalized earlier in 2025 and is aimed at merging complementary technologies to improve precision in PV performance validation. PASAN SA, founded in 1983, has supplied xenon simulators to major solar manufacturers and research institutes for over forty years. Avalon ST, established in 2018 by former experts from Meyer Burger, PASAN, and TÜV Rheinland, has developed the Nexun LED simulator line for PERC, HJT, and perovskite modules. According to Avalon ST, staff and operations are being integrated across Neuchâtel and Shanghai to strengthen production and support. Linking the acquisition with ongoing product innovation and outreach, Avalon ST has also introduced the Nexun Infinity platform and has recently highlighted its Nexun simulator models at RenewX India.
