France-headquartered ENGIE and Airbus signed a framework agreement to support Airbus’s decarbonisation roadmap. The agreement was finalised at the Paris Air Show. ENGIE is set to install photovoltaic panels for local renewable electricity generation. Other measures include decarbonising heat production, energy efficiency upgrades and smart energy management systems. These solutions will be deployed at 22 Airbus sites in France, Germany and Spain. The goal is to use 20% less energy and reduce direct and indirect emissions by 85% by 2030, compared to 2015. The first phase starts this summer with site-specific engineering studies. Project rollouts will begin in 2026, with commissioning by 2029. ENGIE aims to expand its European industrial decarbonisation projects from 160 to 250 sites by 2030. Recently, Engie & SOLARCYCLE alaolaunched Midwest solar precycling program.
