Madrid-headquartered ACCIONA Energía has commissioned the 412 MW Juna photovoltaic plant in Rajasthan, India. The plant consisted of over 750,000 modules and was the company’s largest project in the country. It generated 800 GWh each year, enough for 840,000 homes, and avoided 724,000 tons of CO2. About 70% went to Manikaran Power Limited under a 15-year PPA, while 30% was sold in the market. Construction created up to 1,000 jobs and supported local initiatives through a social impact program. The project added to ACCIONA Energía’s existing 164 MW of wind farms in India. As of June 2025, India had 235.7 GW of non-fossil capacity, including 110.9 GW of solar, with Rajasthan accounting for about 27% of the total.
