Brockwell Storage and Solar has launched a statutory consultation for its East Park Energy project, a new solar farm and battery storage development northwest of St Neots. The project proposes a 400 MW ground-mounted solar generating station and a 100 MW battery energy storage system (BESS), along with supporting infrastructure like inverters, transformers, and underground cable connections to the existing electricity network via National Grid’s Eaton Socon substation. It also includes environmental enhancements targeting at least a 10% biodiversity net gain. This consultation, running until October 29, 2024, builds on feedback from a prior non-statutory consultation and survey work, offering the community a chance to provide input on aspects like construction, site access, and the proposed Legacy Fund to support local projects.
