BrightNight Australia has received grid connection approval from the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) for its Mortlake Energy Hub in southwest Victoria. The hybrid renewable energy project will feature a 360 MW solar farm with nearly 800,000 panels and a 300 MW/600 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). Spanning approximately 1,000 hectares, the hub supports Victoria’s Renewable Energy Zone Development Plan. Expected to begin construction in 2025, it aims to provide enough renewable energy to power around 140,000 homes.
