Bechtel has completed the Cutlass Solar 2 project in Fort Bend, Texas, delivering a 218 MW solar facility ahead of schedule. The project, commissioned by Sabanci Climate Technologies, is now operational and supplying electricity to approximately 40,000 homes. Covering 1,100 acres, the site hosts nearly half a million solar panels, projected to offset 600,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually. Cutlass Solar 2 marks Bechtel’s second solar endeavor in Texas, complementing the previously finished Cutlass Solar 1 in January 2023. Together, these installations are set to power more than 60,000 homes statewide. Bechtel has employed technologies such as data-driven automation, survey robots, and drones to meet project deadlines, involving over 300 workers at peak construction. Bechtel’s upcoming projects include the Oriana Solar facility in Victoria County, Texas.
