BayWa r.e. has been actively involving in Japan’s corporate Power Purchase Agreement sector and renewables sector. It recently finalized a long-term PPA with Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. for a solar facility, ensuring the purchase of 90% of generated electricity over 25 years. The company also attained Commercial Operation Date for its 50 MW Kobe solar farm and secured project financing for its 8 MW Tsuno solar project with ORIX Bank. Besides solar, BayWa r.e. explores battery energy storage systems and wind energy projects. Notable past achievements include completing the 35 MW Isohara and 12 MW Izumi solar farms. Since 2015, BayWa r.e. has contributed over 500 MW to Japan’s renewable energy infrastructure.
