Iberdrola and Bayer have extended partnership, signing green PPA in Italy for 11 years from January 2025, totaling 33 GWh. Bayer’s Garbagnate plant (Milan) will use electricity solely from renewable sources, sourced from Iberdrola’s Montefiascone PV plant in Lazio, Italy, boasting 7 MW capacity. The plant, once operational, will prevent over 3,200 tonnes of CO2 emissions, equivalent to powering 4,000 homes. By 2025, Iberdrola aims to have 400 MW operational capacity in Italy, with additional photovoltaic plants planned. The agreement strengthens the global alliance between Bayer and Iberdrola, complementing existing collaborations in Spain and Mexico for sustainable consumption. Approximately 90% of Iberdrola’s projected energy output for 2024-2025 is already sold, ensuring long-term sustainability.
