US-based sustainable energy firm, Avangrid within the Iberdrola Group, has completed the installation of 105,000 solar modules at its Camino Solar project in California. This 44 MW (AC) (57 MW(DC)) project, which is Avangrid’s first solar venture in California, will generate power for approximately 14,000 homes and contribute around $15 million in state and local tax revenue over its lifetime. Located next to the company’s 189 MW Manzana wind farm and spanning private and public lands managed by the US Bureau of Land Management, Camino Solar marks a major addition to Avangrid’s renewable portfolio. Construction has created around 100 local jobs, with Avangrid now advancing the electrical and grid integration phases for the project, expected to go live next year. This new project complemented Avangrid’s existing wind capacity in California, reinforcing its commitment to expanding clean energy across the state.
