China-headquartered Trinasolar, a global provider of photovoltaic and energy storage technologies, supplied solar panels for a 6 MW solar plant at an almond orchard in Griffith, Australia. The Kerarbury Solar Power Plant, developed by AGL Energy, was designed to generate 14,000 MWh annually with 83% renewable energy penetration. It used over 10,000 Trinasolar panels and included a 2.3 MW/4.5 MWh energy storage system. The facility enabled ofi (Olam Food Ingredients) to replace diesel and grid electricity, reducing emissions. The project is also aimed at supplying energy to the local Griffith community for one year. It marked AGL’s third almond farm project, which the company planned to operate for 20 years. The plant had completed testing, with grid connection pending. This project follows Trinasolar’s broader portfolio, including its role in powering a 1.3 GW solar-plus-storage plant in China.
