Atlas Renewable Energy and ArcelorMittal have entered into a partnership to construct a 315 MWp solar plant within the Luiz Carlos Solar Photovoltaic Complex in Paracatu, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This facility will provide renewable energy to ArcelorMittal’s steel plants, enhancing the sustainability of their operations. The agreement includes a joint venture for construction, with ArcelorMittal set to acquire Atlas’ shareholding upon completion. The solar plant, part of a larger 787 MWp complex, will produce 578 GWh annually, enough to power 300,000 homes and reduce CO2 emissions by 20,000 tons yearly.
