Astronergy, a China-based solar energy provider, has been awarded tenders from two major Chinese firms: China International Water & Electric Corp. (CWE) and Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA). is set to play an important role in Algeria’s ambitious 2,000 MW solar plant initiative. Astronergy will supply 1 GW of its n-type TOPCon solar modules for six projects under the plan spearheaded by Algeria’s state-owned Sonelgaz. The initiative includes constructing 15 solar plants across 12 provinces, with capacities between 80 and 220 MW. The 220 MW Biskra project is already underway, utilizing Astronergy’s ASTRO N5 TOPCon modules and expected to produce about 400 GWh of clean electricity annually, reducing CO2 emissions by 330,000 tons and creating over 600 local jobs.
