Aspen Power, an US-based distributed generation platform, has completed two community solar projects in Corinth and Prospect, Maine, adding 8.5 MW of renewable energy. According to Aspen Power, these solar farms will help prevent approximately 5,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually and generate enough electricity to power about 1,000 homes each year. Both projects are part of Maine’s Net Energy Billing program, which enables subscribers to access lower electricity rates. The Corinth site includes pollinator-friendly vegetation, supporting local ecosystems, while Prospect involved local officials to minimize wildlife disruption. Aspen Power has developed or acquired over 600 renewable energy projects across 26 states since its business-initiation.
