Ascent Solar Technologies, a US-based firm, has announced that it has generated 14 watts from its flexible CIGS thin-film PV module at production scale. Since April 2023, the company has focused on refining processes and formulations, steadily enhancing its power generation. Notably, the Titan module, measuring 1 sq ft with 0.03mm thickness, saw incremental improvements. Anticipating further progress, Ascent aims to reach 16 watts within 8-10 weeks, driven by process enhancements. These advancements align with revenue goals and customer needs, particularly in space applications, ensuring reliable end-of-life power.
