Array Technologies, a US-based leader in utility-scale solar tracking, has introduced an upgrade to its tracker systems. The company now offers a 77-degree stow capability, claiming it is the steepest hail protection stow angle available. According to Array Technologies, this enhancement is designed to mitigate and minimize hail and wind damage, addressing the increasing frequency of such events in the solar industry. Built on the DuraTrack design and featuring SmarTrack Hail Alert Response software, this new tracker also includes durability improvements like a new bearing housing and larger gear rack. These upgrades, along with passive wind stow capabilities, could boost energy output by up to 5% compared to traditional systems. The tracker is expected to ship in early 2026
