Spain-based Aquila Clean Energy has been granted authorization to construct five solar PV plants with total capacity exceeding 700 MW. To be located in Palencia, Cordoba, Granada, Leon, and Toledo, these plants will generate enough renewable energy to power approximately 345,000 households annually and reduce CO2 emissions by 340,000 tons per year. The projects are expected to create more than 2,400 jobs during the construction phase. Aquila says it has a solar project portfolio of more than 3 GW under development in Spain.
