Waaree Energies, India’s solar module manufacturer, has signed an agreement to invest $30 million in United Solar Holding Inc through its US-based subsidiary, Waaree Solar Americas Inc. The subsidiary signed a binding term sheet to invest via Series B preferred shares. The agreement also included a long-term polysilicon offtake arrangement linked to Waaree’s manufacturing operations, including activities in the United States. The transaction was expected to close on or around January 31, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. In the United States, Waaree Solar Americas operated a 1.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Texas, which was under expansion to 3.2 GW capacity. Earlier to this, Waaree Energies had supplied around 300 MW of solar modules to Sembcorp for utility-scale projects in Rajasthan.
