Hornet Solar by Vesper Energy goes live in Texas

Vesper Energy has launched Hornet Solar in Swisher County, Texas with 600 MW capacity and 1.36 million panels ahead of its opening ceremony on April 10, 2025.

Dallas-based Vesper Energy, a global renewable energy company, has launched its Hornet Solar project in Swisher County, Texas. An opening ceremony is planned for April 10, 2025. The 600 MW Hornet solar farm covers six square miles and uses over 1.36 million solar panels. Work on the project started in Fall 2023 and the project started running in January 2025. It was built on 3,900 acres of private land and is one of the biggest single-phase solar projects in the US It can make enough electricity for 160,000 homes each year. The project is expected to bring over $100 million in tax money to the county and help local schools, hospitals and government for many years. It supports Texas' energy system by adding solar power during high demand periods.
