US-based Summit Ridge Energy, commercial solar assets company, has partnered with Digital Realty to supply 5.1 MW of solar energy from three Illinois-based commercial projects. The agreement includes renewable energy credits and energy cost savings. The solar facilities were expected to be operational by late 2025 or early 2026. Digital Realty aimed to offset part of its Northern Illinois data centers’ energy use and support grid resilience. The projects contributed to job creation in construction and manufacturing. CBRE served as Digital Realty’s advisor in selecting Summit Ridge. The projects formed part of Summit Ridge’s 439 MW solar portfolio in Illinois, backed by $3.1 billion in commercial investments. It also energized recently, The 4.1 MW Scenic Farms shared solar project by Summit Ridge Energy in Virginia.
