Summit Ridge Energy, a Virginia-based solar developer, has energized the 4.1MW Scenic Farms Shared Solar Project in Rockingham County under Virginia’s 100MW Shared Solar Program. The project is expected to generate more than 6.5 million kWh annually and provide solar bill credits to over 600 Dominion Energy customers. According to Summit Ridge Energy, residential subscriptions will open by summer 2025 through its partner, Perch Energy. The company owns nearly half of the capacity enrolled in the program and holds over 2GW of solar projects US-wide. The project has been financed through a joint venture with Osaka Gas USA Corporation and MUFG. The facility is located on farmland and has been designed to allow continued agricultural use alongside solar generation while contributing to local energy supply and broader community benefits.
