SEG Solar, a US-based PV module manufacturer, has announced plans for a 3 GW ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Batang Regency, Indonesia. This project is described as the first phase of a broader 5 GW upstream expansion. According to SEG, the new plant is expected to require about 80 million dollars of investment and will be fully funded by the company. The facility is planned to cover approximately 50,000 sq mts within the SEG Indonesia PV Industrial Park. The facility is scheduled to start production in the third quarter of 2026 and will complement SEG’s existing module factory in the US and solar cell facility in Indonesia. With this addition, SEG is set to operate an end-to-end manufacturing chain from ingots and wafers to solar cells and finished modules. Earlier this year, PT ATW Modul Manufaktur has secured exclusive rights to market SEG Solar modules in Indonesia.
