RWE, an US renewable energy company, has commissioned six renewable energy projects totaling 999 MW across California, Texas, Arkansas, and Virginia. The portfolio includes three solar projects, two wind farms—one repowered—and one standalone battery energy storage system. The projects collectively generated over 1,400 construction jobs and are expected to provide more than $130 million in local tax revenue. In California, the 119 MW Westside Canal battery project brought 160 jobs and will add $20 million in taxes. In Texas, the 300 MW Peregrine Solar project created 250 jobs, Peyton Creek II wind project added 243 MW and $60 million in tax revenue, and Champion Wind was repowered for 127 MW with $31 million in tax contributions. Quartz Solar, a 135 MW plant in Arkansas, marked RWE’s first project in the state and will generate $12.5 million in taxes. Virginia’s 75 MW Wythe County Solar will contribute $7 million in local taxes. Recently, RWE constructs 13.9 MW PV plant at Westphalia.
