PowerBank Corporation, independent renewable energy project developer, has reported that the DeStarlink Genesis-1 satellite, developed in collaboration with Smartlink AI (Orbit AI), was launched into low-Earth orbit on December 10, 2025. The satellite was recorded operating in orbit and producing solar power. This deployment marked the first satellite within the planned Orbital Cloud network. The mission demonstrated the integration of decentralized connectivity, solar-powered AI computing, and blockchain verification capabilities in space. Successful operation validated the core technical architecture and confirmed the feasibility of autonomous, solar-powered computing beyond terrestrial infrastructure. PowerBank had announced the collaboration with Orbit AI in November 2025. The collaboration outlined PowerBank’s intended role in supporting solar energy and thermal control solutions for future satellites. Further constellation expansion was planned to begin in 2026. Earlier in December 2025, PowerBank completed a $ 41 million sale of its New York solar assets.
