Swedish solar energy company Midsummer is set to sell and supply production equipment for a Colombian solar plant planned at 100–200 MW annual capacity. The initiative forms part of Saab’s offset commitment linked to the Gripen fighter sale. Midsummer will provide all manufacturing equipment, including DUO machines used for thin-film solar cells, each offering 5 MW annual capacity. The Colombian facility is expected to operate as a regional hub serving the Latin American market. A detailed project plan will be developed with Saab in late 2025. In May, Midsummer received a 15 MW equipment order from Saab for the same plant, which is scheduled to scale to at least 100 MW.
