China-headquartered JinkoSolar, a global solar module manufacturer, has announced that its EAGLE® Preserve program became the first solar module recycling plan approved by the Washington State Department of Ecology. The program, launching July 1, will offer pickup and recycling of end-of-life solar modules from commercial and utility sites across the state. The initiative complied with Washington’s law requiring manufacturers to manage module recycling at no cost to owners. The state mandated that all modules sold after July 1, 2017, must be covered by an approved plan ensuring safe, accessible recycling. JinkoSolar developed EAGLE® Preserve to meet these regulatory requirements and serve the Washington market. JinkoSolar, has recently released its Q1 2025 financial report highlighting operational and market performance.
