ES Foundry, an American company based in South Carolina, has begun full-scale production of PERC solar cells at its Greenwood facility. This production has established a Foreign Entities of Concern (FEOC)-compliant foundation for developers. Developers can secure IRA domestic-content bonus credit eligibility by sourcing these domestically produced cells. ES Foundry is now advancing plans for a large 2-GW Phase II expansion at its Greenwood facility in 2026. Once this next phase is complete, the company will rank among North America’s largest crystalline solar cell producers. The CEO, Alex Zhu, has stated that American solar cell manufacturing is both achievable and essential. Earlier this year, the company had signed a 150 MW module deal in the US.
