Enel Colombia has confirmed two milestones for its solar projects in the Atlántico department as the country’s largest solar cluster. The Atlántico solar park (180 MWac / 256 MW), located in Sabanalarga and Usiacurí, has reached 75% construction completion and injected its first electricity into the National Interconnected System (SIN) during testing. The plant includes 403,920 panels across 34 subfields and is expected to generate about 525 GWh annually. The company also started commercial operation of the Guayepo III solar park on February 25. The facility in Ponedera has a capacity of 180 MWac (267 MWp) and includes 457,764 bifacial panels with expected generation of 531 GWh per year. Construction of both projects created more than 4,300 jobs, with 79 % filled by local workers in Atlántico. Together with Guayepo I & II and the Atlántico project, Enel’s solar portfolio in the department will reach 730 MWac (985 MWp). Across Colombia, Enel now operates five solar parks totaling more than 867 MWac (1,149 MWp), representing over 50 % of the country’s installed solar capacity.
