EDP Renewables North America LLC, a United States–based renewable energy developer and operator, has announced commercial operations at Riverstart Solar IV in Indiana. The PV facility has a capacity of 150 MW and is located in Randolph County. The company stated that the facility will generate electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 28,800 homes and businesses. The company also stated that approximately 625 jobs were supported during construction of the facility. Riverstart Solar IV represents more than $88.6 million in reported local and regional economic impact. This includes $51.4 million allocated to public services and infrastructure, $35 million paid to local landowners, and approximately $2.2 million in regional spending. Riverstart Solar IV forms part of EDP Renewables North America’s operating portfolio in Indiana, which totals 2 GW of capacity. Recently, EDP Renewables has finalised a dual renewable PPA with Carrefour Polska to supply 50 GWh annually through combined solar and wind generation.
