Ameresco Inc., energy solutions provider, has completed a utility savings project for Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC). This facility is designed to enhance energy reliability and reduce long-term costs. It is also initiated with an investment-grade energy audit, the project was supported by a 20-year operations and maintenance contract and included a performance guarantee. Upgrades across the campus featured high-efficiency LED lighting, rooftop unit replacements, and heat pump installations. Additional improvements included building envelope enhancements, updated building controls, and high-efficiency transformers. Ameresco also installed a 0.977 MW DC solar photovoltaic system with covered parking, along with condenser cooling and hot water coil upgrades. The full scope of work is estimated to generate more than $141,000 in annual energy savings. Prior to this, Ameresco also secured a Reuters award for its Kūpono Solar Project in Hawaii.
